Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor:

The Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor assists the Director of Nursing by planning, developing, organizing, and coordinating the day-to-day functions of the nursing department.

Major Duties and Critical Tasks:

  • Plans, develops, organizes, implements, and directs nursing services for residents on the assigned floor.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as facility policies and procedures.
  • Reviews complaints and grievances filed by staff and reports appropriately to the Director of Nursing.
  • Maintains an adequate stock of medications, medical supplies, and equipment, and notifies relevant personnel of needs.
  • Assists in developing assessments of the nursing needs of each resident.
  • Makes nursing/aide assignments as indicated.
  • Encourages staff participation in outside training programs and schedules accordingly.

Education and Experience:

  • A nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
  • At least two (2) years of experience providing direct care in long-term care, restorative, or geriatric settings.
  • At least one (1) year of experience as a nursing supervisor, preferably in a nursing home setting.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Must meet state licensure requirements and have no disciplinary actions against professional license.
