Job summary

Westminster Winter Park is seeking a Registered Nurse Supervisor to provide direct nursing care and supervise day-to-day activities in the Health Center. The role reports to the Director of Nursing and entails supervising floor nurses, managing staffing, and coordinating resident care with families and physicians.

This is a part-time position (20-30 hours/week) with 1st and 2nd shifts available, requiring Florida RN licensure and CPR certification.

Qualifications

  • Must be currently licensed in Florida as a Registered Nurse.
  • CPR Certified is required.
  • One year of long term care desirable; minimum one year in a supervisory role.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise floor nurses and staff to ensure care meets established standards.
  • Assist with calculating daily staffing needs based on census.
  • Review orders and ensure care aligns with physician directives.
  • Oversee resident assessments and coordinate care with families and physicians.
  • Manage family concerns and update DON/ADON on critical situations.
  • Enter admission orders for new residents into ECS.
  • Assist with emergencies in the Health Center and independent living.
  • Request supplies from Central Supply as needed.

We are currently searching for a Registered Nurse Supervisor to work in the Health Center. In this role, the RN supervisor provide direct nursing care to the residents and supervise day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants and staff nurse in accordance with state and federal standards. This supervision may be required by the DON to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times. This position reports to the Director of Nursing.

Schedule: Part-time position | 20-30 hours per week | EOW | 1st shift and 2nd shift available.

Essential position functions:

  • Supervise all floor nurses and staff members, to ensure that care is being provided based on established standards, provide conflict resolution to issues between staff members, and replace nurses that call-off or are no-call/no-show.
  • Assist the ADON/DON with calculating daily staffing needs based on census requirements.
  • Review doctor's orders for new and current residents; ensure that care is being provided based on current orders.
  • Oversee and assist nurses performing resident assessments.
  • Coordinate care through communication with resident's family members, physicians, and other health care providers.
  • Manage family concerns with resident's care.
  • Update ADON/DON on important situations related to the residents or the HealthCenter.
  • Enter admission orders in ECS for new residents to the Health Center.
  • Assist nurses with managing emergencies in the Health Center or independent living.
  • Request supplies for the unit from the Central Supply.

Qualifications:

  • Must be currently licensed in the State of Florida as a Registered Nurse.
  • Must be CPR Certified.

Experience:

  • One year of long term care desirable. Med-surg., Home Health, Emergency Room experience helpful. Also experience working with developmentally disabled adults.
  • A minimum of year as a supervisor is required.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to provide safe, compassionate, and quality nursing care to patients.
  • Ability to administer medications and treatments accurately and in accordance with physician orders.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language and understand and follow written and oral directions.
  • Ability to learn computer programs as defined by Westminster Communities of Florida
