Job summary

Houghton Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking an experienced RN for the evening shift. The role focuses on supervision of long-term care nursing staff, overseeing admissions, assessments, and care plans to ensure high-quality resident care.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum of 1 year of long-term care RN supervision experience with strong leadership and clinical skills.
• Current, unencumbered NY RN license; CPR and IV certifications are required.

Responsibilities

• Ensures new admissions are completed thoroughly and assessments are completed.
• Participates in inspections (surveys) by authorized agencies.
• Participates in and ensures residents' plan of care assessment.
• Participates in development, implementation, and communication of residents' plans of care.
• Makes frequent rounds to ensure nursing standards and resident needs are met.
• Monitors documentation procedures and reports to the Director of Nursing.
• Medcart medication passing and treatment.

Educational Requirements: Graduation from an accredited program in Nursing.

Experience Required: Minimum of 1-year Long Term Care RN supervision experience, strong leadership and excellent clinical skills required.

Professional Licensure and Certification Required: Current, unencumbered RN license in NY state. Current CPR and IV certifications.

Essential Functions

• Ensures that new admissions are completed in a thorough manner and that all pertinent assessments are completed.
• Participates in inspections (surveys) made by authorized agencies.
• Participates in and assures appropriate assessment of residents, validates nursing staff’s clinical decisions.
• Participates in the development, implementation, and communication of resident’s plan of care.
• Making frequent rounds on nursing units to ensure that all personnel are performing their work assignments in accordance with established nursing standards, and that all resident’s needs are being met.
• Monitors documentation procedures of nursing staff. Follows- up on problem areas with employees and makes oral/written reports to the Director of Nursing.
• Medcart medication passing out treatment.
