Job summary

MedCadre in Grand Junction, CO, is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 32-bed unit with progressive/ intermediate care responsibilities. The role involves independent nursing functions, patient assessment, care planning and health teaching, including telemetry and rhythm interpretation.

On-call and occasional department float may be required. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of nursing experience, current RN license in the state, BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.

Responsibilities

• Perform independent nursing and delegated medical functions in line with state standards.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care.
• Monitor health data and health status.
• Provide health teaching and counseling to patients.
• Coordinate therapy and treatments with the care team.
• Refer patients for further evaluation or treatment when needed.
• Document in compliance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.
• Potentially float to other departments within competency scope.

Job Summary

• We are a 32 bed unit. Usually we recruit for progressive care nurses or intermediate care. We do mange drips and more acute patients.
• Performs independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions in accordance with accepted practice standards as defined by the state Board of Nursing.
• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care.
• Evaluates health status through the ongoing collection and assessment of health data.
• Performs health teaching and health counseling.
• Provides therapy and treatment that is supportive and restorative to life and well-being either directly to the patient or indirectly through consultation with, delegation to, supervision of, or teaching of others.
• Executes delegated medical functions.
• Refers patients as needed for further evaluation or treatment.
• Reviews and monitors therapy and treatment plans.
• Documents in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.
• Uses resources as needed.
• Promotes mission, vision, and values of SCL Health, and abides by service behavior standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• May be required to float to other departments (within scope of competency and qualifications) based on business need.
• May be required to be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift.
