Job summary

St. Tammany Health System in Covington, LA, is seeking a dedicated RN for the night shift (7pm–7am). You will supervise a team and deliver patient care using the nursing process, collaborating with the health care team to provide world-class care close to home.

Requirements include a board-certified nursing program, current LA RN license, and BLS/ALS/PALS certifications (ALS/PALS within 6 months). One year ED experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Successfully completed Board Certified Nursing Program.
• Current LA RN licensure.
• Current BLS, ALS, and PALS certifications (ALS/PALS within 6 months of hire) through ILCOR-provided courses.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Scheduled Weekly Hours: TBD

Work Shift: 7pm-7am

Summary of the Job: Responsible and accountable for a group of patients during a designated time frame and to provide care to these patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/instrumentation, and other health care team members.

Supervises the activities of Licensed Practical Nurses, Unit Assistants, Monitor Technicians, Certified Nursing Assistance, Nurse Technicians, unit clerks and Paramedic technicians.

Minimum Qualifications

• Successfully completed Board Certified Nursing Program.
• Current LA RN licensure.
• Current BLS, ALS, and PALS certifications (ALS/PALS within 6 months of hire) through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to: Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross.
• The ILCOR course must include a manikin check off.

Preferred Qualifications

One year of acute Emergency Department experience preferred.

Physical Demands

• Must possess good physical health.
• Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time.
• Lifting at least 20 pounds is required.
• Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.
• Physical Effort required: Constant (67%-100%) - seeing Frequently (34%-66%) - lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, reaching, handling/feeling, talking, hearing Occasionally (1%-33%) - climbing (stairs, ladders, etc.), stooping, crouching
