Job description

Summary

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. Applicants must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit their EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program approval, including award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years), is determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services after review of the application. Former EDRP participants are ineligible to apply.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  1. English Language Proficiency: Must be proficient in written and spoken English as per 38 U.S.C. 7403(f).
  2. Education: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (ACEN or CCNE). Candidates in a master's level bridge program or foreign graduates with current registration may also qualify.
  3. Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a professional nurse in a U.S. State, Territory, or the District of Columbia.
  4. Additional qualifications for Nurse Technician or specific experience preferences.

Grade Determinations: Details the education and experience requirements for Nurse I, II, and III levels, including necessary degrees and years of experience.

Physical Requirements: Ability to perform duties satisfactorily; pre-placement physical exam required.

Duties
