Job summary

St. Tammany Health System in Covington, LA is seeking a dedicated RN to join our night shift (1p-1a) team, delivering patient-centered care using the nursing process and collaboration with the health care team.

The RN will supervise Licensed Practical Nurses, Unit Assistants, Monitor Technicians, Certified Nursing Assistants, Nurse Technicians, unit clerks and Paramedic technicians, ensuring safe, high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Current LA RN licensure and active staff credentials.
• BLS, ALS, and PALS certifications required (ALS/PALS within 6 months).
• ILCOR courses with manikin check-off required.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36 Work Shift: 1p-1a Summary of the Job: Responsible and accountable for a group of patients during a designated time frame and to provide care to these patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/instrumentation, and other health care team members.

Supervises the activities of Licensed Practical Nurses, Unit Assistants, Monitor Technicians, Certified Nursing Assistance, Nurse Technicians, unit clerks and Paramedic technicians.

Minimum Qualifications

• Successfully completed Board Certified Nursing Program.
• Current LA RN licensure.
• Current BLS, ALS, and PALS certifications (ALS/PALS within 6 months of hire) through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to: Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross.
• The ILCOR course must include a manikin check off.

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of acute Emergency Department experience preferred.

Physical Demands

• Must possess good physical health.
• Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time.
• Lifting at least 20 pounds is required.
• Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.
