Job summary

Avamere Rehab of Burien is seeking a Staff Development Coordinator RN to plan, implement, and evaluate comprehensive training for nursing staff in a skilled nursing facility. You will ensure clinical competency, regulatory compliance, and high-quality resident care through orientations, in-service education, and competency assessments.

Responsibilities include needs assessment, curriculum development, onboarding, ongoing training, and quality improvement with collaboration from nursing

Qualifications

• Must possess a nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
• Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an RN in this state.
• Must maintain and have an active CPR/BLS during employment.
• Prefer experience in long term care, geriatric rehab, sub-acute and/or critical care setting.
• Experience in electronic medical records documentation.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to design and deliver effective training programs.
• Knowledge of CMS, State and Federal regulations and compliance requirements.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Needs Assessment and Curriculum Development to identify training needs and develop curriculums.
• Orientation and Onboarding: conduct thorough orientation and oversee onboarding process.
• In-Service Education: plan and deliver ongoing training; use varied teaching methods.
• Competency Evaluation: conduct skills checks and assessments; address gaps.
• Quality Improvement: collaborate with nursing leadership on training-related improvements.
• Compliance Management: ensure training aligns with regulations and maintains documentation.
• Staff Development and Coaching: mentor staff and identify leaders for advancement.
