Job summary

American Advanced Management is seeking a Registered Nurse II for a union position with 5 - FTE 0.9 (3 x 12s) nights from 06:45PM to 07:15AM. The role encompasses comprehensive nursing care across units, with leadership responsibilities and adherence to safety protocols.

Seeking candidates with California RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS where applicable; BSN preferred. Acute care and telemetry experience are valued for this 1-year commitment and potential training in Cardiac Cath Lab

Qualifications

• Education required to qualify for license as a registered nurse. BSN preferred.
• Clinical experience must enable the applicant to pass required clinical competencies, including demonstrating EKG rhythms by exam, within probationary period.
• To qualify as an RN II, must have 6 months acute care experience within the last two years.
• Cardiac Cath Lab: experience preferred, but not required; will train. Minimum 1 year critical care/telemetry experience required.
• Current California Registered Nurse License
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through AHA required
• Current National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification required
• Surgery & Emergency Department: Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certificate through AHA required

Responsibilities

• The assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care for patients and their families in a safe environment.
• Functions as a Competent nurse (Benner, Novice to Expert Nursing Theory) within the competency checklist of assigned unit.
• Accountable for effective leadership and direction to the nursing care team ensuring patients' comfort, safety and personal care.
• Must be able to perform jobs in all patient care and operational areas subject to reasonable accommodations, also be able to employ all mandatory safety devices and procedures.
• Must participate in the Respiratory Protection Program, which may include the wearing of a respirator which requires a clean-shaven face.
