Job summary

American Advanced Management Inc. in Stockton, CA is seeking a registered nurse for full-time night shift (0.9 FTE, 3 x 12s, 18:45-06:15). The role requires California RN license, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS where applicable, with responsibilities across cardiac and emergency care in a union hospital setting.

You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care, lead the care team, ensure patient safety and comfort, and participate in safety programs as part of a comprehensive nursing team.

Qualifications

• Current California RN license.
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications required.
• PALS certification required for Surgery & Emergency Department.
• To qualify as an RN II, must have 6 months acute care experience within the last two years.

• Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• The assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care for patients and their families in a safe environment.
• Functions as a Competent nurse (Benner, Novice to Expert Nursing Theory) within the competency checklist of assigned unit.
• Accountable for effective leadership and direction to the nursing care team ensuring patients' comfort, safety and personal care.
• Must be able to perform jobs in all patient care and operational areas subject to reasonable accommodations, also be able to employ all mandatory safety devices and procedures.
• Must participate in the Respiratory Protection Program, which may include the wearing of a respirator which requires a clean-shaven face.
• This is a union position.

Qualifications: Experience:

• Clinical experience must enable the applicant to pass required clinical competencies, including demonstrating EKG rhythms by exam, within probationary period.
• Unit specific experience preferred but not required
• To qualify as an RN II, must have 6 months acute care experience within the last two years.

Unit Specific:

• Cardiac Cath Lab: experience preferred but not required; will train. Minimum 1-year critical care/telemetry experience required.

Licenses/Certificates:

• Current California Registered Nurse License
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through AHA required
• Current National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification required

Unit Specific:

• Surgery & Emergency Department: Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certificate through AHA required
