About Our Unit

Moss-Magee Rehab Elkins Park Spinal Cord Injury Rehab - 1 North is a 20-bed Spinal Cord Injury Unit at Moss-Magee Rehab Elkins Park, specializing in the care of traumatic and non-traumatic spinal injuries. Registered Nurses and Nursing Assistants work closely with an interdisciplinary team that includes physicians, occupational and physical therapists, neuropsychologists, social workers, clinical specialists, and dietary staff to provide the best education and outcomes for patients.

Schedule Commitment

Schedules are available 6 weeks in advance. The work schedule for this position requires:

• Working twelve (12) hour shifts.
• Working every third (3rd) weekend.
• Holiday commitment includes 1 holiday per season.

Responsibilities

As a registered nurse, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Performing patient procedures within the nursing scope of practice.
• Practicing safe medication administration and assessing patient responses to medication.
• Participating in reviewing and implementing clinical pathways and care coordination.

Qualifications

To qualify as a registered nurse, you must meet the following requirements:

• BSN Degree preferred.
• State-issued RN license.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
