Job summary

Mercy in Missouri seeks a registered nurse to apply the nursing process, coordinate patient care, and maintain patient rights and confidentiality. You will collaborate with multiple departments and ensure high-quality care aligns with Mercy Service Standards.

Requirements include a nursing degree, active state license, CPR within 90 days, and the ability to perform port draws and labs. Oncology experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Knowledge of nursing procedures, medications, and patient education.
• BLS/CPR certification required; CPR within 90 days if not held.
• Current valid state nursing license and ability to drive for Home Infusion.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care and ensures confidentiality.
• Evaluates care effectiveness and coordinates with other departments.
• Maintains patient rights and supports Mercy Service Standards.
• Many duties include port draws, labs, rooming and clinic tasks.

Job description

Find your calling at Mercy! Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Position Details

Education

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Knowledge of the principles and skills needed for nursing, care, examination, diagnostic and treatment room procedures. Knowledge of medications and their effects, patient education, principles to develop a self-care program, instruments and common safety practices.

Licensure

• Current valid state license.
• A valid driver's license is required for nurses in Home Infusion.

Experience

Not required, experience in Oncology is preferred.

Certifications

CPR certification or obtain within 90 days of employment.

• Requirements: port draws, labs, rooming and clinic experience
• Skill in assisting and performing a variety of medical treatments and procedures.
• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Must be able to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and policies.
• Must be able to communicate clearly and establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, staff and the public.
• Basic computer terminal and keyboard skills, or the ability to learn these skills, in order to access information and enter clinical data.
• Equipment Used: Must be able to operate equipment normally related to the specialty of the clinic.
