Job summary

Baptist Health in Arkansas is seeking a Circulating Nurse RN to join our perioperative team. The Circulating Nurse plans, organizes and administers care with surgeons to ensure safe and efficient patient outcomes and compliance with hospital policy and Arkansas Nurse Practice Act. New RN graduates or RNs with an unencumbered Arkansas license are welcome.

CPR is required; ACLS/PALS/NALS training is provided. BSN is preferred.

Qualifications

• New RN graduate or RN with an unencumbered license in good standing to practice in Arkansas.
• CPR required; some areas may require ACLS, PALS and/or NALS - training provided.
• BSN preferred.
• Applies basic knowledge and skills to meet standard of care.
• Works as a full partner of an interdisciplinary team with Hospital policies and Nurse Practice Act.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons and other healthcare professionals during surgical procedures.
• Maintain a clean, sterile environment outside the operating room.
• Administer medications as prescribed and monitor patient responses.
• Prepare for operations, perform surgical counts, and document procedure details.
• Monitor perioperative staff, instruments and equipment; support teamwork.

Working Hours: 6:30am-7:00pm, Various days. Call and Holidays required

Summary:

The Circulating Nurse is a Registered Nurse responsible for planning, organizing, and administering care within thescope of his/her training and expertise, collaborating with other disciplines to ensure effectiveand efficient patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes is met. This isdone in conjunction with the objectives and policies of the hospital and the Nurse Practice Actof the state of Arkansas.

The Circulating Nurse assists surgeons and other healthcareprofessionals during surgical procedures. They work outside the operating room’s sterile fieldby ensuring a clean and sterile environment, administration of medications, implementing andmaintaining surgical counts, prepping for operations/procedures, documentation ofsurgery/procedure, monitoring perioperative staff, instruments, and equipment and thedelivery of surgical specimens.

• A new RN graduate from an accredited nursing program or Registered Nurse with an unencumbered license in good standing to practice in the state of Arkansas. BSN preferred.
• Healthcare CPR required, some areas may require ACLS, PALS and/or NALS - training is provided.
• Specialty units require and will provide specific specialty education.
• Applies basic knowledge and skills to meet standard of care.
• Is able to practice as a full partner of an interdisciplinary team.

This job will be authorized72.00 hours bi-weekly.
