Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System in Houston, TX seeks an experienced RN for the Special Procedures Day Surgery and Recovery unit. Schedule is 4 x 10-hour shifts, 11a-9:30p, with no weekends, holidays, or on-call requirements.

Qualifications include a Texas RN license (or compact), BSN preferred, and BLS certification. Experience levels range by role, with strong emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration and patient education.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing; Bachelor's of Nursing preferred.
• Current State of Texas license or temporary/compact license to practice professional nursing.
• Basic Life Support; additional certifications may be required based on discipline and/or unit requirements.

Responsibilities

• Delivers safe and appropriate care to patients, according to nursing skills inventory and patient needs.
• Coordinates planning for nursing care with an interdisciplinary team and makes clinical decisions.
• Collaborates with and may delegate to the healthcare team to achieve positive outcomes based on data and standards.
• Coordinates discharge or transfer plans for patients.
• Participates in systemwide evaluation, process improvement and outcomes.
• Attends to diverse patient needs across the continuum, upholding service standards and patient experience.
• Adheres to Texas Board of Nursing standards and Memorial Hermann policies and budget guidelines.
• Promotes professional growth; may serve as preceptor or mentor to less experienced staff.
• Demonstrates commitment to compassionate, personalized care for every member of the community.
