Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a Weekend RN for Pre-Op Holding at Texas Medical Center. This part-time role (weekends 5:30am-2:00pm) supports the PACU team with nursing assessments, patient education, and perioperative coordination.

Applicants should have a Texas RN license (or compact), BLS, and strong communication skills. Previous pre-operative hospital experience is preferred to ensure safe, efficient patient care within regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing; Bachelor's of Nursing preferred.
• Current State of Texas license to practice professional nursing (or compact license).
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

• Delivers safe and appropriate care to pre-operative patients using the nursing process.
• Coordinates care with an interdisciplinary team and participates in care planning.
• Performs nursing assessments, assists with exams and treatments, and documents care.
• Coordinates discharge and transfer plans as needed.
• Upholds Memorial Hermann service standards and regulatory requirements.
