Doctors Hospital of Manteca, a busy acute-care hospital, seeks a seasoned Critical Care Shift Manager RN to lead night shifts in the CCU. You will supervise nursing staff, ensure delivery of high-quality patient care, and partner with leadership to optimize patient outcomes and unit performance.

The role requires California RN licensure, BLS/ACLS on hire, PALS within 6 months, and possible national certification depending on shift level.

Qualifications

• B.A./B.S. (Shift Mgr. III) degree required or higher
• M.A./M.S. (Shift Mgr. IV) preferred
• Major: Nursing
• 15 hours CE related to Critical Care and/or Management

Responsibilities

• The Shift Manager delivers skilled, high-quality patient care and assists in planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating nursing practice.
• Supports Department Director in developing and evaluating nursing personnel and maintaining unit operations. Acts as resource for plan of care and professional behavior.

The Critical Care Shift Manager (Registered Nurse) is responsible and accountable for the delivery of skilled, high quality patient care; for assisting in planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating nursing practice in accordance with the Mission of Doctors Hospital and Critical Care Services. He/she demonstrates a high degree of critical thinking, technical skill, initiative, integrity, accuracy and compassionate nursing care in an interdisciplinary practice.

The Shift Manager assists the Department Director in providing direction in the development and evaluation of nursing personnel, and in maintaining operations of the patient care unit. Prescribes, delegates, and coordinates nursing care acting as resource for clinical issues involving the plan of care. Contributes to nursing and hospital mission through support of philosophy and objectives, educational efforts and research efforts. He/she performs as a peer role model for professional behavior and in demonstrating superior expertise in the delivery of nursing care, and oversight of all functions of the department during assigned shift. Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

• B.A./B.S. (Shift Mgr. III)


• M.A./M.S. (Shift Mgr. IV)


• Major: Nursing


• Supportive Course Work: 15 hours CE related to Critical Care and/or Management

Training

• Able to function as Primary Nurse in Critical Care. Completion of an approved Critical Care class with superior arrhythmia recognition skills.


• Must have taken Critical Care Med Test and Basic Arrhythmia test with scores of 85%. At least two years experience in Critical Care setting within the past eight years and 1200/hrs/yr.

Licenses / Certifications

• Active California R.N. License, Healthcare Provider BLS and ACLS upon hire. PALS within 6 months of hire. National Certification required for Shift Manager III and IV. Shift Manager II requires BSN OR National Certification.

Experience

• 1 – 2 YRS. MANAGERIAL


• 2 YEARS (Shift Mgr. I)
