Oak Plains Academy in Ashland City, TN, is seeking a Registered Nurse for a seasonal/temporary 4-month position. Shifts run 6:00 AM–6:00 PM, 6:00 PM–6:00 AM, and 10:00 AM–10:00 PM on a 3–12 hour schedule, within a 98-bed residential treatment program for children and adolescents.

The RN will participate in individualized treatment plans, administer medications, and collaborate with a professional team including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses, and teachers to support healing

• Completion of an accredited Registered Nursing program and licensed in the State of Tennessee.
• Minimum one year of RN experience in Behavioral Health with children/adolescents or psychiatric inpatient setting.
• Must be at least 21 years old; valid driver's license in good standing.

• Administers medications and documents all data accurately according to facility policy.
• Performs proper HWC techniques, demonstrating knowledge of patient and staff safety.

Registered Nurse – Seasonal/Temporary position 4 months

Oak Plains Academy is a comprehensive and highly structured 98-bed residential treatment program offering psychiatric residential treatment services to children and adolescents, struggling with emotional and behavioral issues. Residents receive an individualized treatment plan, geared to meet their personal needs. A professional team of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, therapists, nurses, and teachers serve hundreds of children and adolescents annually with the common goal of treating and healing trauma and building resiliency in the residents we serve. Located on 20 acres of rolling hills in a rural setting, about 45 minutes from Nashville, Tennessee, Oak Plains Academy, Ashland City, campus features a full-size gymnasium, dining hall, separate academic building, and four dormitories. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Renders professional nursing care to patients within the treatment programs. Practices ongoing patient assessment, evaluation and update of patient care through observation of physical and behavioral symptoms and communicates pertinent data to other service areas as needed. Administers medications appropriately and documents all data accurately according to facility policy. Participates in formulation of individual care plans for all patients and implements plan according to facility policy.
• Performs proper HWC techniques, demonstrating knowledge of patient and staff safety.
• Completes debriefings as indicated.
• Serves as a role model to staff and students in dress and demeanor.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

• Completion of an accredited Registered Nursing program and licensed in the State of Tennessee.
