Job summary

Wethersfield Public Schools in Wethersfield, CT, is seeking a School Nurse for Corpus Christi Catholic School for the 2026-2027 year. The position is full-time, Monday–Friday, 7:15am–2:45pm, 188 days, with competitive compensation.

Requirements include a valid CT RN license, BS in Nursing, and at least two years of nursing experience, preferably with children; duties include health services, records, medication administration, and collaboration with families.

Qualifications

• Valid RN license from the CT State Department of Health.
• Minimum of BS degree in Nursing.
• Two or more years of nursing experience (prefer at least one year dealing with children).

Responsibilities

• Serve as the designated health professional on the school team (e.g. Planning and Placement Team, 504 Team, Crisis Team).
• Maintain accurate, comprehensive, well-organized records, logs, surveys, and reports per CT requirements and district policies.
• Confer with parents, students, teachers, support staff and other professionals to interpret health and developmental assessments; monitor students with special needs.
• Supervise compliance with Connecticut State mandated physical examinations and immunization requirements.
• Coordinate administration of prescribed medications and treatments; train staff in medication administration and health records.
• Provide health care treatment and/or emergency services to injured or ill students and staff.
• Assist families in obtaining a medical home, HUSKY state health insurance, needed immunizations, dental care, etc.
• Attend staff meetings and perform other nursing duties as required.
• Perform other nursing duties consistent with the school's mission.
