The Fitch Unit at SolutionHealth is seeking a Resource Nurse to serve as an immediate clinical resource on the floor, providing direct patient care when needed and guiding staff. You will be part of the Fitch management team, ensuring smooth operations and quality care on your assigned shift.

Responsibilities

• Assists in cost control through efficient utilization of personnel, materials, and equipment.

Job Description:

Who We Are:

The Fitch unit is a 45 bed, Acute Care Medical Unit, with approximately 120 employees. The average patient census is 40 patients and specialties focusing on sepsis, respiratory, diabetes, GI, oncology, end of life, and some surgical. The Fitch unit provides an outstanding supportive environment and advanced training for its staff. The unit also offers a relaxation room for its employees to decompress and relief stress. The nursing staff is supported by a charge RN and team lead, whose focus is to make this the best place to give and receive care. Many years ago, our staff came up with our unit’s own mission and vision. The mission is "Everyone Helps Everyone" and the vision is "Teamwork Makes the Dream Work". Our staff is very involved with quality, improving workflows, and providing input for meaningful change. About the Job:

The Resource Nurse directly oversees and serves as an immediate, first line clinical resource to staff on the floor of Fitch Unit. The RRN will demonstrates well developed clinical competencies appropriate to the floor when providing direct patient care or guiding staff. The position will function as an integral member of the Fitch management team and will work to ensure operations of unit on assigned shift are running efficiently. The RRN will adhere to the values under the EHS Professional Practice Model which guide all dimensions of practice.

What You’ll Do:

• Participates in professional enhancement activities including membership in hospital-wide committees, health system initiatives, development of education materials, professional association activities
• Provides support and leadership to the Fitch team in developing integrated approaches to care including assisting staff with the provision of care to assigned patients and assuming a partial patient assignment
• Works in partnership with and serves as a resource to medical staff for relevant clinical issues
• Collaborates and supports the Clinical Nurse Manager
• Teams up with the Clinical Nurse Manager to effectively control costs through innovative and economical utilization of personnel, materials and equipment
• Supports the department’s Shared Governance structure and is accountable for quality improvement outcomes

Who You Are:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. ASN Required with active enrolled in BSN enrollment in a program (signed BSN commitment form needed). BSN Preferred.
• Minimum of two (2) years of current experience in an acute care setting required. Must be at a clinical level that reflects proficiency and in-depth knowledge of nursing practice.
• License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of New Hampshire required or must hold a Compact Nursing License
• Life support authorization (BLS) appropriate to patient population required
• Specialty certification required within six (6) months of eligibility
