What will my day look like?

  • Assist medical providers with medication management and integration appointments
  • Complete medical assessments
  • Provide education to patients that includes teaching preventative health and wellness skills to promote optimal health
  • Provide health education regarding comorbid conditions to our patient population
  • Provide education on smoking cessation
  • Perform touchless searches, conduct supervised toxicologies, and participate in room searches
  • Other duties as defined by the RN Manager

What has prepared me for this opportunity?

Besides all of the all-nighters and cramming for exams or for those nurses who have worked countless hours in the field…

  • Valid New York State Registered Professional Nurse License along with an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university - required.
  • Professional experience with Behavioral Health Substance Use - preferred.
Location

Conveniently located on Elm Street in downtown Buffalo, Terrace House is a 68-bed facility offering stabilization and medically-supervised detox treatment. We provide twenty-four hour care to adult men and women who need support, counseling, observation, nursing, and medical care to achieve initial stabilization from drug and/or alcohol withdrawal.

Hours

This position is per-diem, specifically for evening/overnight weekday shifts & all shifts available on the weekend. You’ll earn an additional 25% shift differential for your work hours that fall between the hours of 7 PM - 7 AM!

Compensation

Horizon is consistently evaluating our compensation and benefit packages to ensure we remain competitive. The range of pay for this position is $38.55 - $43.15. Starting pay may be impacted based on experience and education. You’ll earn an additional 25% shift differential for your work hours that fall between the hours of 7 PM - 7 AM! Compensation adjustments are evaluated annually.

Registered Nurse Recruitment Bonus Program

Eligible hires and payment structure:

  • Full Time hires: $750 after 30 days, and $750 after 6 months (total $1,500)
  • Part Time hires: $375 after 30 days, and $375 after 6 months (total $750)
  • Per Diem hires: $200 after 30 days, and $175 after 6 months (total $375)
Physical demands
  • Stationary posture with frequent standing/sitting alternation
  • Mobility between nearby worksites and within facilities
  • Mobility required involving repetitive wrist, hand, and finger movements
  • Lifting objects up to 20 pounds
