Job Overview

The RWJBarnabas Health New Graduate RN Residency program is a one-year program designed to provide new graduate RNs with a safe, caring, supportive, and comprehensive learning environment. It aims to help new nurses develop clinical competency and transition from student to professional practice.

The program includes:

  1. Preceptor and relationship-guided transition support for new graduates.
  2. Continuing education and ongoing professional development.
  3. Specialty-specific foundational courses reflecting scope and standards of practice.
  4. Application of professional accountability and ethical practice.
  5. Recognition of the impact of skilled nursing on patient safety, quality, and satisfaction.
  6. Focus on self-care to maintain safe and fulfilling nursing practice for both nurses and patients.
  7. Mentorship support throughout the first year of practice and beyond.
  8. Hired into a specific area of specialty.
  9. Variable day or night shifts.
Required Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited ADN or BSN program.
  • NJ RN licensure prior to hire date.
  • Less than 6 months of RN experience.
  • Commitment to completing orientation requirements.
  • BLS certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • BSN degree.
