Job Overview

The RWJBarnabas Health New Graduate RN Residency program is a one-year program designed to provide new graduate RNs with a safe, caring, supportive, and robust learning environment. It aims to help new nurses gain clinical competency and transition from students to professional practitioners. The program includes:

  • Preceptor and relationship-guided transition support for new graduates.
  • Continuing education and ongoing professional development.
  • Specialty-specific foundational courses reflecting scope and standards of practice.
  • Application of professional accountability and ethical practice.
  • Recognition of the impact of skilled nursing on patient safety, quality, and satisfaction.
  • Focus on self-care to maintain safe and fulfilling nursing practices for both nurses and patients.
  • Mentorship throughout the first year of practice and beyond.
  • Employment in a designated specialty area.
  • Variable day or night shifts.
Required Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited ADN or BSN program.
  • NJ RN licensure prior to hire date.
