Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a Staff Nurse for its 12-month Nurse Residency program which mentors new graduates through education and blended learning experiences.

The program focuses on clinical judgment, communication, teamwork, and evidence-based practice across Acute Care units including Post-Surgical/GI, Neurology, Orthopedics, Renal, Oncology and General Medical. New grads will receive precepted orientation and mentorship.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a nursing program.
• New Graduates eligible.
• Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse
• BLS CPR certification
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable

Responsibilities

• Responsible For: The Staff Nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle using nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care.
• Maintains standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff.
• Demonstrates professional growth and accountability in a collaborative environment.

Our 12-month, comprehensive, transition-to-practice program facilitates your progress from student to professional nurse through education, mentorship and peer support. Our Nurse Residency program prepares new graduate nurses by teaching the knowledge, skills and behaviors that are necessary to continuously improve quality and safety at the point of care. It combines precepted orientation, led by dedicated preceptors, with blended learning experiences.

RN residents will:
