Job summary

HSHS St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL, is seeking a Nurse Extern II transitioning into a Registered Nurse role. The position is full-time, 36 hours weekly, with night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM and weekend/holiday rotation.

Eligible candidates may transition to RN upon licensure, with a sign-on bonus of up to $20,000 for approved units. Graduate from an accredited nursing program and be eligible for licensure in the state. RN license is required; BLS is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program eligible for licensure in the state of practice.
• RN license in state of practice required.
• BLS certification required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
• Experience in healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Nurse extern II during final semester with transition to RN upon licensure pending.
• Work in various units as part of the nursing team.
• Schedule includes 36 hrs/wk, Nights 7:00 PM–7:00 AM with weekend/holiday rotation.
• Sign-on bonus eligible up to $20,000 for approved units.
