Responsibilities

• The RN coordinates nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care.
• Supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and the continuum of care.
• Functions within the Mayo Nursing Care Model with accountability for planning, implementing, evaluating and communicating nursing care.
• Provides leadership through preceptor roles, informal leadership and quality improvement efforts.
• Delegates patient care based on skill level, experience, acuity, and resources.
• Maintains excellent communication, mentoring and potential committee involvement.
