Job summary

UK King’s Daughters in Ashland, Kentucky, is seeking motivated nurses for a Nurse Residency Program. You will perform patient care under supervision, collect and analyze data, and formulate care plans to achieve outcomes while promoting a safe practice environment.

Responsibilities include patient assessments, documenting progress, safe medication administration, and teaching patients and families. This role supports growth in a compassionate, team-based setting with diverse patients.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in nursing required or higher.
• RN licensure in Kentucky or eligible for licensure.
• BLS certification or willingness to obtain.
• Stroke scale certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and document findings per standard scales.
• Prioritize and document patient problems with care team.
• Document changes in condition and evaluate care effectiveness.
• Administer medications safely per five rights and barcode scanning.
• Provide patient/family teaching and materials and assess understanding.
• Delegate tasks to appropriate staff and perform nursing skills per policy.
• Deliver age-specific, culturally sensitive care and manage admissions, transfers, discharges.
• Assist with procedures and coordinate care across settings.
