Job summary

Peterson Health in Kerrville, Texas, seeks a full-time Registered Nurse for Women’s Services. The role features three 12-hour shifts, day shifts 7am-7pm available, supporting patient-centered care in a Magnet-designated facility.

The RN will assess patient needs, develop care plans, coordinate with the team, and document responses, leveraging L&D experience and current Texas RN licensure with BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Texas RN license with BLS, ACLS, and NRP.
• Previous L&D experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess the needs of patients on the unit and plan nursing care.
• Lead the plan of care and supervise subordinate personnel.
• Evaluate patient response and document outcomes both verbally and in writing.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.

What you will do

The RN on Women’s Services is responsible for assessing the needs of each patient on the unit and planning the nursing care needed to meet those needs, including spiritual, emotional, physiological, and psychosocial needs. Once planned, the RN is responsible to see that the plan of care is carried out through RN’s own performance and/or leadership of subordinate personnel. After the plan is implemented and the care provided the patients’ response is evaluated both verbally and in writing.

Required Education

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

Preferred Education

Graduate of a BSN program or actively enrolled in one

Required Skills

Patient Care assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Must communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Knowledge and ability to perform skills necessary for unit specific competencies, to include age specific competencies.

Advanced competencies as defined by demonstrated participation in formal Continuing Nursing Education activities.

Required Licensure/Registration/Certification

Current and unrestricted Texas license as a Registered Nurse, Certified in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Neonatal Resuscitation Program.
