Job summary

HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital in Hudson, FL seeks a Progressive Care Registered Nurse to deliver high-acuity patient care in a PCU setting. The role emphasizes accurate assessments, care planning, and collaboration with the care team.

Required: Florida RN license (compact allowed; active within 60 days if applicable), Nursing Diploma or ASN (BSN preferred), BLS; ACLS after 60 days, TNCC/TCAR after 12 months, NIHSS after 6 months, with strong communication and clinical skills.

Qualifications

• Florida Registered Nurse licensure in accordance with state regulations or appropriate compact licensure
• Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred
• Prior experience in an acute care setting preferred
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS required after 60 days of hire/transfer
• TNCC or TCAR required after 12 months of hire/transfer
• NIHSS required after 6 months of hire/transfer
• Strong critical thinking and interpersonal communication skills; PC skills

Responsibilities

• Instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions
• Maintain and review patients’ records including posting tests and examination results
• Administer medications in accordance with physician orders

Job Summary and Qualifications

We are seeking a Progressive Care Registered Nurse. You will provide clinical expertise to ensure all patients receive high quality, efficient care in a high acuity environment. What you will do in this role:

• You will assess, plan, intervene and evaluate the care of Progressive Care Unit patients.
• You will instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions.
• You will maintain and review patients’ records including posting tests and examination results.
• You will administer medications in accordance with physician orders.

Requirements:

• Licensure as a Florida Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations or appropriate compact licensure. If compact license held, active FL RN license required within 60 days of hire.
• Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
• Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required after 60 days of hire/ transfer.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) or Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) required after 12 months of hire/ transfer.
• National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)required after 6 months of hire/ transfer.
• Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills
