Job summary

HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital in Hudson, FL is seeking a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a busy Med/Surg unit. You will work with an amazing team that supports each other and values clinical excellence.

The role requires Florida RN licensure, a Nursing Diploma/ASN (BSN preferred), and BLS with ACLS after 60 days. Prior acute care experience and strong communication are essential for coordinating care and educating patients and families.

Qualifications

• Must hold Florida RN license; active FL license within 60 days if compact.
• Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
• Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS after 60 days.
• TNCC or TCAR after 12 months of hire/ transfer.
• NIHSS required after 6 months of hire/ transfer.
• Strong critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions.
• Maintain and review patients’ records including posting tests and examination results.

Job Summary and Qualifications

We are seeking a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse. You will provide clinical expertise to ensure all patients receive high quality, efficient care in a medical surgical environment. What you will do in this role:

• You will assess, plan, intervene and evaluate the care of Med/Surg patients.
• You will instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions.
• You will maintain and review patients’ records including posting tests and examination results.
• You will administer medications in accordance with physician orders.

What qualifications you will need:

• Must be licensed as a Florida Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations or appropriate compact licensure. If compact license held, active FL RN license required within 60 days of hire.
• Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
• Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required after 60 days of hire/ transfer.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)or Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR)required after 12 months of hire/ transfer.
• National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) required after 6 months of hire/ transfer.
• Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills.
