Job summary

HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital is seeking a Progressive Care Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality, efficient care in a high-acuity environment. You will join a collaborative team dedicated to patient safety and exceptional outcomes.

The role requires Florida RN licensure (or compact license with timely activation), a nursing diploma or ASN (BSN preferred), BLS, ACLS after 60 days, with TNCC/TCAR and NIHSS timelines to follow. Strong communication and clinical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Licensure as a Florida Registered Nurse or compact license with active FL RN within 60 days.
• Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
• BLS certification required; ACLS after 60 days of hire/transfer.
• TNCC or TCAR required after 12 months of hire/transfer.
• NIHSS required after 6 months of hire/transfer.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, intervene and evaluate care for Progressive Care Unit patients.
• Instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions.
• Maintain and review patients' records, posting tests and results.
• Administer medications in accordance with physician orders.

Job Summary and Qualifications

We are seeking a Progressive Care Registered Nurse. You will provide clinical expertise to ensure all patients receive high quality, efficient care in a high acuity environment. What you will do in this role:

• You will assess, plan, intervene and evaluate the care of Progressive Care Unit patients.
• You will instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions.
• You will maintain and review patients’ records including posting tests and examination results.
• You will administer medications in accordance with physician orders.

Requirements:

• Licensure as a Florida Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations or appropriate compact licensure. If compact license held, active FL RN license required within 60 days of hire.
• Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
• Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required after 60 days of hire/ transfer.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) or Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) required after 12 months of hire/ transfer.
• National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)required after 6 months of hire/ transfer.
• Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills
