Job Title: RN - Registered Nurse - Surgical ICU - Multiple Shifts - (UAB0011I)

Description

Compensation: Pay Range: $28.38- $46.17 / hour. Shifts Available: UAB Medicine supports work/life balance. The available shifts are:

  • Full-time PM: 3 12-hour shifts per week
  • Full-time weekend: AM and PM, 3 12-hour shifts per week
  • Part-time weekend PM
  • Part-time Baylor: AM and PM

Job Responsibilities

Utilize the nursing process to care for and counsel individuals, promoting health and preventing illness or injury. Apply systematic critical-thinking to gather data, assess, judge, intervene, and evaluate human responses to health problems through activities like health teaching and counseling. Identify patient needs using the AACN Synergy Model. Delegate, coordinate, and manage nursing care efficiently and effectively, collaborating with patients, families, and healthcare team members, including licensed physicians, psychologists, podiatrists, and dentists.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Nursing program required; Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred. Work experience cannot substitute education requirements. Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing. BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required or to be obtained within 30 days of employment. Additional certifications such as ACLS and PALS may be required depending on the unit/department.
