RWJBarnabas Health in New Jersey seeks an RN for the Special Care Nursery at Community Medical Center on a part-time night schedule. You will conduct assessments, administer medications, and educate families while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

The Special Care Nursery cares for infants 32 weeks and up and attends high-risk deliveries. Active NJ RN license with BLS; ACLS/NRP required within 3 months; BSN preferred; EPIC EMR experience recommended.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association.
• ACLS and NRP required within 3 months.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
• Experience in SCN and EPIC EMR experience preferred.
• Schedule is 2 nights per week, 7pm–7:30am, weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and intervene early.

The Special Care Nursery staff primarily care for infants 32 weeks and up requiring a high level of care. The staff also attend High Risk deliveries.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), a typical day may include:

• Conducting comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes, using your judgment to intervene early and advocate for your patients
• Providing safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands on care grounded in strong clinical judgment
• Serving as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers, offering insight that supports timely, well-coordinated care decisions
• Providing clear, compassionate education to patients and families so they feel informed, supported, and prepared for the next phase of care
• Ensuring accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record to promote continuity and patient safety
• Contributing your voice during interdisciplinary rounds, helping drive seamless communication and smooth transitions of care

To be considered for this RN opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing and a current American Heart Association BLS certification. ACLS and NRP are also required within 3 months. A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is strongly preferred, as is current patient care experience in SCN and comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC. This position offers a 2 days a week schedule 7p-7:30am including weekends and holidays, allowing you to build strong patient relationships while maintaining balance.
