Department:

System Float Pool (System Staffing)

Schedule:

Afternoon and Night shifts available (May work 8 or 12 hour shifts)

Hours:

Minimum 36 hours a month. 16 hours on the weekend shift a month required. 2 holidays a year required.

Hospitals and Location:

Multiple hospitals, including:

• Ascension St. John Hospital in Detroit
• Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital, Oakland Center in Madison Heights
• Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital, Macomb Center in Warren
• Ascension River District Hospital in East China
• Ascension Providence Hospital, Novi Campus in Novi
• Providence Hospital, Southfield Campus in Southfield

Position requires travel to 3 hospitals in the system of your choice.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care according to policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition.
• Serve as a primary coordinator for patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.

Requirements:

• Licensure/Certification/Registration: BLS Provider within 1 month of hire or transfer. American Heart Association or Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credential from the Michigan Board of Nursing prior to hire.

Additional Preferences:

• At least 18 months recent bedside experience for MS/TELE.
• Recent telemetry experience with passing a telemetry exam.
• 2 years experience in SD/ICU or ED.
• Pass BKAT.
