Job description

RN Registered Nurse - Recovery - 36 Hours - Rotating Shift
  • Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality, compassionate patient care.
  • Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise, and document care and teaching of patients and families.
  • Communicates pertinent patient/family information effectively to the healthcare team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.
  • Performs basic clinical and non-clinical patient care activities under supervision. Responsibilities include aiding with movement and placement of patients.
  • Assists patients with personal care and activities of daily living.
  • Reports findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff. Documents necessary records.
  • Keeps patient rooms clean, orderly, and maintains medical equipment.
  • Shift: 7:00AM – 7:30PM at Henry Ford Providence Hospital – Southfield
  • Occasional call required.

Education/Experience Required:

  • BSN preferred. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
  • Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
  • Effective communication skills with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
  • Experience in Pre-Operative Holding Unit, Post-Anesthesia/Recovery Room, Emergency Room, or Intensive Care Unit preferred.

Certifications/Licensures Required:

  • Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
