Job summary

UAB Medicine in Alabama is seeking a registered nurse to provide ambulatory and inpatient care for adults and pediatric patients with hematologic and oncologic conditions. The role emphasizes specialized radiation oncology knowledge and a commitment to quality nursing care.

• Two years nursing experience preferred.
• ACLS and PALS certification may be required at certain center.

Job Description

To provide professional ambulatory and inpatient nursing care to adult and pediatric patients with hematologic, oncologic, and benign diseases. To demonstrate specialized radiation oncology knowledge and skills gained through education and professional experience. To deliver care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating. To coordinate activities with other members of the interdisciplinary team to ensure quality patient care.

Qualifications

Graduate of a School of Nursing Program approved and accredited by the Alabama State Board of Nursing required. Associate’s degree in nursing. BSN preferred. Two (2) years nursing experience preferred. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required or must be obtained within thirty (30) days of employment. If working in the Hazelrig-Salter Radiation Oncology Center, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is also required.
