  • This Staff RN position will be orienting on a Rotating Basis and then start on shift of highest need in the Progressive Care Unit at Mount Carmel Grove City.

Registered Nurse RN
Position Purpose:

The Progressive Care Unit at Mount Carmel Grove City is a 12-bed mixed medical/surgical unit. This unit provides nursing care for patients who are less acutely ill than those requiring intensive care, but more acutely ill than the general medical/surgical unit population. Patients requiring PCU care can come to this unit, giving nurses the chance to care for a wide variety of patients, including surgical, geriatric, oncology, orthopedic, neurologic, and cardiac cases. The range of patients allows nurses to develop broad skills and thrive in various situations. Supported by the staff-led Professional Governance Committee, the MCGC PCU provides excellent care and compassion for patients and their families as they bridge the gap between ICU and medical/surgical care.

The Registered Nurse RN, within the scope of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, will provide care in an atmosphere sensitive to each person’s physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs. The RN collaborates in teamwork, is accountable for patient care delivery utilizing the Nursing Process within organizational standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines.

What you will do:
  • Provide nursing care, ensure patient safety, promote evidence-based practice and quality initiatives, and exhibit professionalism within the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program model.
  • Assess and evaluate patient care for assigned patients, collaborating with patients and families to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
  • Communicate pertinent information timely to team members and keep patients and families updated.
  • Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and completely according to standards and policies.
  • Take responsibility and accountability for care provided and documented by licensed and unlicensed caregivers as appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Graduate from school of nursing.
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Ohio.
  • For Casual RNs, 2 years of experience required.
  • New graduate nurses with less than one year of experience will participate in the Nurse Residency Program.
