Job summary

Gundersen Health System, in partnership with Emplify Health, seeks an RN to join the Pre Op/Recovery team in Wisconsin. The role offers a variety of patient care experiences, strong team support, and work-life balance.

Primary duties include pre-op assessments, patient education, discharge preparation, and post-operative monitoring in PACU, with on-site shifts and call responsibilities. Wisconsin RN license, 2 years RN experience, and BLS are required.

Qualifications

  • Valid Wisconsin RN license is required.
  • Minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing.
  • BLS for healthcare providers required.
  • At least 2 years of RN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Pre-op: assess and educate patients and prepare for discharge.
  • Recovery/PACU: monitor consciousness and vitals, manage post-operative symptoms.

Emplify Health by Gundersen is looking for an RN to join the Pre Op/Recovery team! This opportunity will allow you a variety of patient care experiences, work-life balance and to work with a great team!

What you will do
  • 0.875 fte; 70 hours every two weeks
  • Pre Op - Four 10-hour shifts per pay period, primarily 8:00am-6:30pm or 9:00am-7:30pm
  • Recovery Room - Three 10-hour shift between the hours of 6:30am and 7:00pm
  • Hours may flex based on department need
  • Approximately (1) weeknight call shift every 6 weeks from 11pm - 7am.
  • Approximately 3 weekend call shifts every 6 months
  • Weekend call hours include Friday 11pm – 7am, Saturday 7pm - 7am, or Sunday 7pm - 7am
  • Weeknight call is assigned; weekend call is self-scheduled.
  • 1 hour response time for call shifts
  • 1 scheduled holiday per year
  • A fast-paced department cares for a variety of surgical specialties varying in age from pediatric to geriatric

Pre-op primary responsibilities include assessing and preparing the patient for surgery, providing education, and preparing for discharge home.

Recovery room/PACU primary responsibility is monitoring levels of consciousness, vitals, and treating post operative side effects such as pain or nausea.

What you will need
  • RN license to work in the state of Wisconsin
  • Minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing
  • BLS for healthcare providers
  • 2 years RN experience required
