Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System in Ohio is seeking a Full-time Registered Nurse for Pre-Admissions Testing (PAT RN), non-patient facing. You will collaborate with surgeons' offices and medical offices to clear patients for surgery and document PAT information in the EHR.

The role requires RN licensure in Ohio, nursing education from an accredited school, and about one year of surgical services experience is preferred.

• Accurately communicates pertinent information to providers, internal and external customers, office associates, patients and family members in a timely manner.
• Provides clinical telephone communication as defined by protocol or provider instructions.
• Documents accurately and completely pertinent assessments, interventions and outcomes for patients in accordance with documentation standards, policies, procedures and/or guidelines.
• Assists provider with patient assessment, examinations and treatments.
• Thoroughly educates and explains procedures to patients and family members (diagnosis, disease process etc.).

In accordance with the Mission, Core Values and Vision; the Registered Nurse Pre-Admissions Testing will provide care in an atmosphere sensitive to each person's physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs within the scope of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act. The Registered Nurse functioning in the spirit of teamwork, is accountable for the delivery of patient care utilizing the Nursing Process within the standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines of the Organization.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education : Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Licensure / Certification : In good standing with a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
• Experience : One year experience in surgical services preferred.
