Job Responsibilities
- Medication Administration
- Follow SSH policies for administering, transcribing, and recording medications.
- Complete medication reconciliation per SSH policy.
- Properly document narcotic withdrawal, administration, verify counts, waste, and resolve discrepancies.
- Plan of Care/Documentation/Patient-Centered Care
- Develop, evaluate, and update individualized care plans.
- Conduct admission assessments within 8 hours of admission.
- Document all patient care activities following policies and standards.
- Assess and document patient comfort and response to interventions.
- Facilitate discharge/transfer planning aiming for 12:00 pm.
- Safety and Quality
- Verify patient identity with two identifiers before procedures.
- Adhere to hand hygiene and universal precautions.
- Maintain a safe environment and understand emergency protocols.
- Professional Development
- Obtain at least 5 contact hours annually.
- Practice within MA Nurse Practice Act.
- Engage in feedback and professional relationships.
- Apply critical thinking in problem-solving.
- Technology Use
- Use Lotus Notes for email and learning resources.
- Utilize department-specific software.
- Understand downtime procedures.

Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (preferred).
- Previous acute care RN experience (preferred).
- Current RN license in Massachusetts.
- Certifications: BLS required; ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, TCAR may be required depending on department.
Additional Details
- Schedule: 7 am - 7 pm, every 3rd weekend.
- Responsibilities and education requirements vary by department and role.
