- Full-Time AM: 3 12-hour shifts per week

Job Description : To be responsible for daily shift operations of the Center for Patient Flow. To ensure staff assignments are appropriate and that resources are allocated fairly. To provide oversight of all patient flow activities, including transfer center and bed assignment process and intervenes in complex situations as necessary. To serve as a clinical resource for the department, collaborate with physicians, NRC, unit charge RNs and nurse managers, ancillary departments, and outside agencies to ensure timely and clinically sound placement of all patients. To ensure full compliance with all regulatory requirements, reviewing documentation, identifying areas of potential vulnerability, investigating situations, and collaborating with department manager to develop plan for corrective actions. To represent the department through participation in committees and assigned projects.

Qualifications

Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Nursing and three (3) years of related experience or an Associate's degree in Nursing and five (5) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required. Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required or should be obtained within 30 days of employment. Depending on the unit/department, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) may be required.
