Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a part-time RN to provide and manage patient care with a focus on comprehensive nursing assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. You will engage with patients and families, deliver education, and coordinate with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality care.

This role supports the Kirklin Clinic and broader UAB Medicine network in Alabama. The position offers AM shifts, primarily Monday–Friday, with 8am–5pm coverage as needed, and access to educational

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Nursing is required.
• Current RN license or eligibility to be licensed in Alabama is required.
• CPR certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment for TKC site.

Responsibilities

• Provide and manage patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation).
• Interact with patients and families while collaborating with the healthcare team.
• Deliver patient education and document clinical information accurately.

Job Description

Under general supervision, to provide and manage patient care. To deliver care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation and evaluation including, but not limited to, interviewing, obtaining physicals, providing patient education, determining initial diagnosis and documentation. To effectively interact with patient, significant others and other healthcare team members while maintaining standards of professional nursing. To respond to the unique needs of all patients ages newborn through geriatric.

Qualifications

Associate's degree in Nursing required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required. If job is in The Kirklin Clinic (TKC): Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or must be obtained within thirty (30) days of employment required.
