Job summary

Universal Health Services, Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide leadership to the mental health treatment team during designated shifts.

You will assign responsibilities, supervise programming, and guide direct care staff in a pediatric/adolescent psychiatric setting in Missouri. The role requires nursing licensure in Missouri and strong knowledge of adolescent behaviors and psychiatric nursing interventions.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing with a diploma or an associate degree; BSN preferred.
• Licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in Missouri.
• Knowledge of professional nursing and adolescent/child behaviors in psychiatric care.

Responsibilities

• RN provides leadership to the mental health treatment team during a shift, assigns responsibilities and activities.

HEARTLAND

Heartland Behavioral Health has been providing care for children and adolescents for over 100 years in Nevada, Missouri. We treat male and female patients ages 4 through 17 in acute and ages 4 through 17 females in the residential programs for conditions ranging from depression, anxiety and other mood disorders to recovering from a traumatic event. All of our programs have been designed and tailored to help our patients grow and prosper. Heartland programs are provided with a focus on Trauma Informed Care.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing with a diploma or an associate degree, B.S.N. preferred.
• Licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in the state of Missouri.
• Knowledge of Professional Nursing.
• Advanced knowledge of adolescent and child behaviors and knowledge of nursing interventions that are appropriate for the treatment of children and adolescents in need of psychiatric care.
• Experience in the psychiatric treatment of children and an adolescent is preferred.
• Adolescents
• Knowledge of: 1) Adolescents programs, 2) Adolescent Growth and Development, developmental tasks ages 13-18, 3) Use of natural and logical consequences of their behavior, 4) Providing therapeutic seclusion and/or restraints. Uses no aversive or punitive measures. Aware of skills development process, use of modeling, feedback, and opportunities for practice of skills, and transference to other experiences.
• Pre-Adolescents
• Knowledge of: 1) Pre-Adolescents program, 2) Adolescents Growth and Development, developmental tasks ages 3-12 years, 3) 1-2-3: Magic! Procedures, 4) Proper techniques/procedures for assisting with hygiene and ADL's. Understands the benefits of positive reinforcements for appropriate Behaviors
