Job summary

Northwest Texas Healthcare System is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide safe, competent nursing care aligned with facility policies and patient-centered care philosophy. You will lead and support the healthcare team while ensuring service excellence at all times.

Responsibilities include developing age-appropriate care plans, maintaining professional behavior, and ensuring a safe environment for patients and families.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited RN program.
  • Current Texas nursing license.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications maintained.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment assessments.
  • Strong critical care background preferred.

Position: Registered Nurse
POSITION SUMMARY

Qualifications
EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE AND LICENSES / REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:
  • Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program
  • Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s)
  • BLS from the American Heart Association (or obtained during orientation) and maintain certification throughout employment
  • Current state nursing license or permit to practice nursing in the State of Texas
  • De-escalation training within 90 days of hire; does not require maintaining
  • Ongoing compliance with demonstration of clinically pertinent competencies as determined by the facility
  • ACLS within 3 months of hire and maintain certification throughout employment
  • Successful completion of EKG test in department orientation
  • Critical Care experience, preferred
Physical and Sensory Requirements

1. Ability to read and write in English
2. Ability to communicate with patients, families, staff, physicians,support agencies, vendors, and others.
3. Ability to remain calm during stressfulsituations
4. Ability to respond to pages
5. Ability to evaluate and interpret information and make independent decisions.
6. Ability to repeatedly twist, squat and stoop.
7. Bending, lifting (minimum of 25 pounds), grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing, and pulling.
8. Exposure to infectious organisms, agents, and toxic chemicals
9. On call shift coverage as required by department
