Gundersen Health System invites applications for an Oncology RN on the Emplify Health unit in La Crosse, WI. You’ll deliver comprehensive care on a 24-bed Medical Oncology unit, supporting patients with acute and chronic conditions alongside a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires ADN (BSN preferred), Wisconsin RN licensure, and BLS certification, with chemotherapy certification due within a year. New grads and experienced RNs are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• ADN is required; BSN preferred.
• Current RN licensure in Wisconsin upon hire.
• Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers.
• Chemotherapy certification required within one year of hire; training provided.
• New graduates and experienced RNs are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide Love + Medicine to medical and oncology patients across multiple specialties.
• Care for patients with varying acuity, including IMC with enhanced monitoring and timely interventions.
• Collaborate with Palliative Care and Hospice teams to support patients and families.

Registered Nurse | Medical Oncology Unit

Emplify Health by Gundersen has a Registered Nurse position available on our 24-bed Medical Oncology Unit. This is your opportunity to provide specialized, complex care to patients while doing the work you love in the beautiful Coulee Region of La Crosse, Wisconsin.

What You Will Work

• 0.8 FTE | 64 hours every two weeks
• Rotating 8-hour day (6:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.) and PM (2:30 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.) shifts
• Every other weekend and holiday

What You Will Do

• Provide Love + Medicine to medical and oncology patients, caring for individuals with acute and chronic conditions involving renal, gastroenterology, endocrinology, dermatology, pulmonary, infectious disease, and geriatric specialties.
• Care for patients across a range of acuity levels, including Intermediate Care (IMC) patients requiring enhanced monitoring, advanced nursing assessment, and timely clinical intervention.
• Partner with Palliative Care and Hospice teams to support patients and families facing end-of-life challenges while respecting cultural values and individual preferences.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team that includes physicians, advanced practice clinicians, social workers, dietitians, CNAs, and fellow RNs.
