About the Job

ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital is a 25-bed, acute-care Critical Access Hospital serving Fostoria and surrounding communities. Patients have access to diagnostic, emergency, surgical facilities, and general medical care, including inpatient intensive care. Established in 1930, it has cared for generations of patients with a commitment to compassionate, technologically advanced care.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Provide age-appropriate care for infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
  2. Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document patient care outcomes.
  3. Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care.
  4. Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.
  5. Employ infection control techniques.
  6. Use critical thinking and sound judgment; initiate emergency care as needed.
  7. Educate patients and families considering their comprehension and learning styles.
  8. Follow proper chain of command and demonstrate professionalism and confidentiality.
  9. Participate in continuing education and certifications.
  10. Assist in orienting new staff and contribute to team growth.
Minimum Requirements
  • Active RN license; if temporary license issued under HB197, pass NCLEX and obtain full RN license within 90 days or by December 31, 2020.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program; licensed in the state of hire.
  • BSN preferred.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, bloodborne pathogens, and bodily fluids.
  • Meet health requirements (PPD, vaccines, etc.).
  • Move about hospital, stand for prolonged periods, lift/move patients or equipment.
  • Perform physical activities like bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, kneeling, sitting, and climbing stairs.
