Qualifications

  • Current RN license (Oklahoma or multistate eNLC) and BLS certification required.
  • Experience varies by level: 0-3 years for RN I, 3-5 years for RN II, and 5+ years for RN III.

RN - Registered Nurse (Levels 1-3) - Post Trauma/Ortho - Part-time

Job Description:

Shift Available: Part-Time (12 hours/week)

*Registered Nurse positions are available at levels I, II, or III, depending on experience and education.*

Preference will be given to RN candidates with a minimum of one (1) year of experience.

General Description:

An OU Health Registered Nurse (RN) I works under general supervision, providing high-quality care to patients with a range of health problems. They embody the OU Health Way and core values: Patients First, Relentless Excellence, Integrity, Inclusion, Learning, and Teamwork.

RN I is a nurse who is a novice or advancing to competent, relying initially on rules and beginning to formulate principles based on experience.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Align behaviors with OU Health values and nursing standards.
  • Manage assigned patient(s), document responses, and note changes in physician orders.
  • Assist physicians, monitor physiological data, and intervene as necessary.
  • Administer medications, manage IV infusions, and deliver safe, competent care.
  • Address patient complaints, inform patients and families about procedures, and make care referrals.
  • Seek mentorship, maintain certifications, and develop personal and professional goals.
  • Promote an inclusive workforce, delegate tasks, and perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
RN I:

Education: Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.

Experience: 0-3 years of patient care experience.

License/Certification: Current RN license (Oklahoma or multistate eNLC), BLS certification.

RN II:

Education: Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.

Experience: 3-5 years in patient care.

License/Certification: Same as RN I.

RN III:

Education: Bachelor's Degree required; Master's preferred.

Experience: 5+ years in patient care.

License/Certification: Same as RN I, with additional specialty certifications preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Knowledge of nursing theory and practices.
  • Organizational and planning skills.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations and maintain compliance with standards.
