  • Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients, consistent with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice.
  • Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
  • Administers medications and treatments using appropriate protocols; monitors for side-effects and effectiveness.
  • Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
  • Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, families, and caregivers; identifies issues and resources.

Requirements

Meets all requirements listed in this description.

Education/Skills
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
  • Attend New Nurses Orientation within 30 days of hire.
  • Complete organizational entry and department-specific competencies.
  • Maintain annual competency requirements.
Experience
  • 1 year of nursing experience preferred.
  • Perinatal RN Residency or recent practice in Perinatal setting preferred.
Licenses & Certifications
  • BLS required.
  • RN license in state or compact.
  • Current NCC C-EFM or AWHONN certification (or complete within 4 months).
  • Current STABLE certification (or complete within 4 months).
  • ACLS certification within 30 days (experienced) or 90 days (new graduates).
  • NRP certification at hire or within specified timeframes.
