Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Mount Pleasant, TX seeks a full-time nurse for night shift (7PM - 7AM) to provide comprehensive care in a clinical setting. The role emphasizes independent practice, utilization of the nursing process, and ongoing development to manage contingencies in patient care.

Responsibilities include administering medications, documenting care, educating patients and families, and delegating tasks as appropriate. A BSN is preferred, with BLS and RN licensure required.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• RN license in state of employment or compact license.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Administer medications and treatments per protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care given.
• Assess learning needs and educate patients and families; identify issues and resources.
• Make appropriate assignments and delegate tasks to other care providers as needed.

Summary:

Provides routine and complex care, with the ability to on long-range goals or plans. Continues to develop the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as a means to help manage the clinical situation.

Responsibilities:

• Consistent with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patient and families in accordance with their level of practice.
• Using the appropriate protocol, administers medications and treatments; monitors for side-effects and effectiveness of the treatment prescribed.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Assess learning needs and provides education to patients, family members and/or care givers; identify issues and resources.
