DESCRIPTION

This position serves all UCSD Interventional Radiology departments at multiple UCSD locations. The primary location for this position is UCSD East Campus where Radiology, IR, and Vascular access are served by the IR nursing team. The Interventional Radiology RN will support areas within the radiology department on an as needed bases, this can include being scheduled at all locations.

Autonomous nursing care is the ability of a nurse to assess and provide nursing actions as appropriate for patient care populations based on competence, professional expertise, and knowledge. The nurse is expected to practice autonomously consistent with ANA Standards of Practice and Professional Performance. Independent judgment is expected to be exercised within the context of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches to patient care.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
  • RN License issued by the State of California.
  • BLS and ACLS at time of hire with commitment to get ART within six (6) months of hire date.
  • Flexibility to orient and work at East Campus, La Jolla and Hillcrest Hospitals.
  • PICC insertion training and competency within 6 months
  • PALS certification within six (6) months.
  • Moderate Sedation Certified within three months of hire.
  • Must have minimum of (1) year IR, Cath Lab or Procedural experience. If insufficient applicant pool, the department may consider candidates without this experience who have three (3+) or more years of recent acute care ICU/ER experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • BSN.
  • Moderate Sedation Certified.
  • US IV Insertion experience
  • PICC insertion experience.
  • Vascular Access Certification.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • This position will service all areas within IR/Radiology as needed.
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $180,716 - $180,716 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $86.55 - $86.55

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
