Job summary

Penn State Health Holy Spirit Medical Center is seeking an RN for inpatient float coverage (PRN, Level 2) to provide high-quality nursing care across acute settings in Harrisburg and surrounding areas. The role may require assignment at Hampden Medical Center as needed to support patient needs.

The position emphasizes comprehensive assessments, medication administration, robust documentation, and adherence to clinical care plans.

Qualifications

• Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the Interstate Nurse Licensure Compact required.
• BLS required prior to orientation completion.
• Minimum one (1) year experience in inpatient settings (med/surg, telemetry, PCU, or ICU) or emergency department preferred.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The RN inpatient Nurse assesses patient health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records. The inpatient Registered Nurse administers nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled patients. The RN may advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention. The inpatient RN will maintain accurate, detailed reports and records and administer medications to patients while monitoring for reactions and side effects. The RN will monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients’ conditions.

In addition to Holy Spirit Medical Center, this position may be required to work at Hampden Medical Center.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

• Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact required.

• Minimum one (1) year experience in inpatient (med/surg, telemetry, PCU, or ICU) or emergency department preferred

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
• Minimum one (1) year of experience in critical care, emergency department, and/or women's and babies preferred
